Believe it or not I probably should have been a baker cause that’s what go me in the kitchen. I was child who wanted always wanted to add every ingredient to the mixing bowl and cried when I got kicked out for adding stuff to the batter too soon.
Baking isn’t just something I do. It’s the way I show love every holiday season. Believe me everyone knew if you came over to our house between thanksgiving and the Christmas holiday you were leaving with a homemade cookies. Something about them just had a extra heaping scoop of love which you tasted in every bite.

Ingredients
2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup cane sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Measure flour, salt, baking soda and sift into a bowl.
Add butter into a stand mixer and beat for 2 minutes.
Add cane sugar to the bowl and mix for 1 minutes.
Add in brown sugar and beat mixture for another minute or until all sugar is mixed well and creamed together.
Add one egg into mixture mix for 1 minute then add in the other egg
*Scrape sides of the bowl down after first egg is incorporated.
Add vanilla extract and mix until incorporated.
Turn mixer on low and add flour into the bowl half cups portion at a time; mix for 1 minute. Continue until the steps until all flour is incorporated.
Add chocolate morsels in 1 cup at a time on low speed until ingredients are mixed well.
Link baking sheet(s) with silicone mat or parchment paper.
Scoop cookie dough onto baking sheets, spaced evenly for cookies to spread while baking.
Bake for 8 minutes or until golden brown in preheated oven.
Let cookies rest on baking sheet for 3 minutes, then transfer to cooling rack.
