Aunt Bessie's “AMAZING” Banana Nut Bread
It's the simple things in life that I find comfort in. One of those things just so happens to be Aunt Bessies “AMAZING” Banana Nut Bread! it is seriously the best thing since they discovered sliced bread was a real thing. The best part about it is you can slice this bread too or make little mini loaves. It's totally up to you! This recipe here has a plot twist, it can be eaten not only for breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack!
Homemade baked goods are all I know, something about homemade baked goods screams LOVE! At least in our house it did. Banana nut bread was a staple grab and go breakfast growing up and as fall is upon us i couldn’t wait to share this recipe. This recipe is definitely a comfort food, simply because The smell of the spices alone fills up the house with the comforting aroma of cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. It just brings back so many childhood memories and makes my tastebuds gitty! This recipe was created by my great aunt Bessie who always had cookies, brownies, breakfast breads or slices of cake for you when you arrived and left her home. I’ve made some additions in terms of spices and bananas but this recipe gives it a little flare but even so it still screams “HOME” for me.
Now while most banana nut bread has the bananas mixed into the batter, this one here I chose to fold in my bananas. This little tip ensures you’ll have a banana chunk in every bite. I enjoy this bread served with your favorite nut butter spread or even a spiced brown butter compound butter spread. I enjoy the traditional loaf of bread but the mini loaves are my way of enjoying my favorite comfort food in moderation. You know me always finding a way to include portion control.
Now usually you have to try recipes over and over until you get them right, well this one here comes out perfect every time! This was one photo session I enjoyed as it was dedicated to my Great Aunt. The feeling I received after looking at the pictures I know Aunt Bessie is proud!
Well fall is upon us soon enough the clock will fall backwards an hour, the leaves will begin to change and everyone will start to enjoy their spiced cider and pumpkin spiced lattes. My only addition to that list would be a warm loaf of Aunt Bessies “AMAZING” Banana Nut BREAD.
